There is also a newer variant, the Non-Immigrant ED Plus Visa, for international students enrolled at the bachelor's degree level or above. ED Plus holders can leave and re-enter Thailand without a re-entry permit during their studies, and may stay an additional year after graduation to seek employment.

Can Foreigners Apply? Eligibility Requirements

Yes — foreigners of virtually any nationality can apply, provided they meet these conditions:

• Accepted by a recognized institution — a Thai university, college, language school, or vocational school.
• Enrolled in a full-time course — language schools generally require a minimum of 15 hours of study per week; academic programs must be full-time.
• Sufficient funds — proof you can cover tuition and living expenses.
• Valid passport — at least 6 months validity for a single-entry visa, or 18 months for a multiple-entry visa.
